I’m exploring if data on the characteristics of how we move reveals a metric of the efficacy of manual therapy treatments. Being able to use this kind of data could help move the field forward by giving us solid proof of how well therapies are doing. It also shows how using simple sensor data can be a handy way to check the effectiveness of therapy methods.
Joining in will take just a little bit of your time — just a minute or two before and after your appointment. In that time, you’ll need to walk 6-8 steps while we gather acceleration data from your gait. It’s important to know that the data needs post-processing, so I won’t be able to give you feedback right away. Please consider participating as this data is unique and quite precious to me.
If you’re interested in getting instant feedback on how you walk, you can download and play with the free: Sprike App from the Apple App Store.
There is a broad description of the study in this post:
If you want to join or have questions, please let me know so we can set aside the extra time (you won’t be charged) for our next meeting.
